Join 2x4 Challenge!
Are you ready to put your creativity and woodworking skills to the test? The Paso Robles Woodcrafters Club is excited to announce our very first 2x4 Challenge! This fun and friendly competition is the perfect opportunity to showcase your skills and creativity using just one piece of lumber.
The Challenge: Create something amazing, fun, functional, artistic or anything in between! The only catch is that you can only use a 2x4.
Rules: Materials: You may use one 2x4 board up to 10 feet long. The finished piece can be any size or shape, as long as it was crafted from the 2x4. You may choose to work alone or with a group of club members.
Nails, screws, glue, resin, fasteners, other hardware, and paint, stain and other finishes are permitted. We don’t want a crazy amount of rules, but just make sure that the primary focus of your piece is about the 2x4 wood that you used.
Prize: Our winner will receive a $25 gift card to Mayan Hardwood in Paso Robles, recognition on our website and social media, and of course, bragging rights! Bring your completed project to the next Club meeting in Spring 2024 (date TBD) where each member will get to vote for their favorite. Not a member yet? Join us here!
Lack Tools? Have Some to Share?
We want everyone who wants to participate in the challenge to have an opportunity to do so. If you don’t have access to tools, OR if you are willing to share your shop or tools please email pasowood@gmail.com and we will try to connect members.
Need some ideas?

IDEAS!
While some of the videos below are pretty advanced, others are more simple. Everything here is just to help inspire your brainstorming. If advanced joinery and angles are your thing, go for it, but if you want to simply paint a 2x4, we'd love to see that just as much!
